Pork Goulash Recipe

The name goulash originates from the Hungarian gulyás,
which is the word for cattle stockman or herdsman. Traditionally this pork
goulash recipe is
made with beef or veal.
Garnish with sour cream, parsley, red pepper and paprika.
Serves 4

Recipe Ingredients
1oz Butter
3 Rashers of Streaky Bacon
1 medium Onion
4oz Mushrooms
2lb Pork
1/2 Red Pepper
1tsp Paprika
1/4pt Sour Cream
1/2pt Chicken Stock
Parsley
Recipe Method
- Melt the butter in a frying pan.
- Dice the bacon and chop the onion and fry for 3 minutes.
- Slice the mushrooms and chop the pepper.
- Add to pan and cook for a further 5 minutes.
- Season.
- Transfer to a casserole dish.
- Dice the Pork and put into the frying pan and seal.
- Add the pork to the casserole.
- Sprinkle the paprika into the frying pan and cook for 1 minute and then
stir in the sour cream, stock and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour into the casserole and stir.
- Cover and place in oven and cook at 160˚C for 2 hours
(Until the pork is tender)
